Thank you for your comments. Sparse Baye...Hi, Ali,

Thank you for your comments. Sparse Bayesian learning was first proposed by Mike Tipping. Here are his seminal papers:

[1] Tipping, M. E. (2001). Sparse Bayesian learning and the relevance vector machine. Journal of Machine Learning Research 1, 211–244.

[2] Faul, A. C. and M. E. Tipping (2002). Analysis of sparse Bayesian learning. In T. G. Dietterich, S. Becker, and Z. Ghahramani (Eds.), Advances in Neural Information Processing Systems 14, pp. 383–389. MIT Press.

Above, [1] gives a comprehensive description on SBL. [2] gives some theoretical analysis.

You can check his website for more papers/overviews/tutorials/slides on SBL: http://www.miketipping.com/index.php?page=rvm

Tipping's works basically focus in the problems in machine learning. David Wipf introduced SBL into the field of sparse signal recovery/compressed sensing, with significant theoretical analysis. To see how SBL is used/developed in the field of sparse signal recovery/compressed sensing, see:

[3] D.P. Wipf and B.D. Rao, Sparse Bayesian Learning for Basis Selection, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, vol. 52, No. 8, August 2004

I think the above three papers are the starting point on the road of SBL. Since then, you can look for more papers by Tipping, Wipf and others (such as I mentioned in the blog entry), based on your interests and favor.

Best
ZhilinZhilin Zhanghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03353166836522573115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3434420274486900742.post-1748277410268498852011-06-12T18:41:07.930-07:002011-06-12T18:41:07.930-07:00Zhilin I like your blog!! that's awesome man. ...Zhilin I like your blog!! that's awesome man. can you also provide a list of good papers to start in SBL?
